The customer reported that one of the burners on their electric cooktop was no longer heating. The control light would turn on, but no heat was produced regardless of the temperature setting. This issue disrupted meal preparation and required immediate attention.
The technician began by disconnecting the cooktop from power and removing the glass top to access internal components. Using a multimeter, they tested the continuity of the suspected heating element and infinite switch.
The front-left burner was confirmed to have a failed element and a weakened infinite switch. Both parts were removed and replaced with manufacturer-approved components. Wiring and terminal connections were also checked for heat damage.
After reassembly, the technician tested all burners, ensuring that the replaced burner reached full heat and could be adjusted smoothly. The cooktop was cleaned, and safety tips were provided to the customer.
